Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Feb 20, 2012 1:10 pm Hi All My land developer is offering a $3500 rebate to put towards front landscaping in my proposed new house The amount does not seem like all that much to me but at least it is something Unfortunately I do not have exact figures of costings but what would you guys suggest I put in there? It is a west facing block and I do love green lawn. I like the contrast between dark mulch/soil and green grass. I want something easy maintenance yet pleasing to the eye. I am in perth. Any help would be muchas appreciated!! With that $3000 and probably a little extra i am going to put in: - Full automatic and waterwise retic system c/w solenoids, rain sensor, MP rotators for lawn areas and Netafim dripline for trees and plants. - Soil prepared as Fu's instructions (viewtopic.php?f=19&t=43570) - Building of a brick rendered planter box - Planting Trees, small plants etc It all depends how much effort you want to put in to get bang for your buck! How much do you estimate it to cost you? I can do things like planter boxes, render, fancy garden lighting and decking, but when it comes to the green stuff and retic and all those other gardning words i am about as useful as t*ts on a bull! Hi Daedalus, sorry about the late reply. The total cost of the landscaping is estimated to come in at $8000, the most expensive part being the planter box which is costing $3400, but its quite big and i think $3400 is cheaper than if done by a landscaper, check out my landscaping thread for pics: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=50027 Here is the breakdown Planter and letterbox - Permits $250 - Excavation - $650 - Footings -$400 - Bricks - free - Bricklaying - $1050 - rendering - $700 - Waterproofing - $150 - Drainage $160 - Painting $50 Retic - $1000 Plants - $1000 Turf - $650 Soil prep - $800 Paving - $1250 I will be getting $3000 rebate, so the total cost will come to $5000 after rebate which will be excellent value. Once i am done i would love to know what a professional would of charged for the same result, my estimate would be in the $20k or $30K mark Seems good to me. I've been told $4-5k/sqm is reasonable in Perth. 2 11137 I recently finished my house and after landscaping, have begun to plan a fence.
