Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Feb 12, 2012 7:30 am Hi All, We're getting close to handover on our build and are starting to look at getting quotes for landscaping on our sloping block. The main thing we need to do straight up is retaining walls (prefer masonry/concrete), drainage and a path around the side of the house including several steps. We also need to arrange someone to do the driveway. Does anyone have any recommendations for someone in the Newcastle area? Regards, cliffo Re: Landscaper Recommendations in Newcastle Area 2Sep 25, 2013 10:29 pm did you find a driveway person in newcastle? how much cost/m2 Re: Landscaper Recommendations in Newcastle Area 3Sep 28, 2013 12:16 pm Old thread. For anyone interested my parents just got a 1m high, 15m long retaining wall done with charcoal coloured blocks by a guy Newcastle Landscape & Design. We were so impressed we're going to get him over to help us (we were going to do it ourselves) with our landscaping once we move in. I have an email and phone number, don't think he has a website. I'd be interested in cost per square metre for driveways too if anyone has some experience in this area. Re: Landscaper Recommendations in Newcastle Area 4Sep 28, 2013 12:26 pm animal Old thread. We have two walls, one is only 290mm high and 12m long, the other 490mm high and 7m long. This also includes 3 sets of steps in different locations on the walls. I don't know how much of that cost is materials. Materials includes all the ag pipe, back fill gravel and of course the blocks. Oh, forgot to mention - I'm moving the blocks where they are required off the delivery pallet and also digging the trenches for foundations. I'll try get over to my old mans place and take some photos if you like. Re: Landscaper Recommendations in Newcastle Area 6Sep 28, 2013 12:42 pm you mean 4500$ for only labour charge! material cost not included? too expensive mate.. I meant out of that $4500 I don't know how much was labor and how much was material. I didn't ask for the breakdown. My old man said blocks were something like $9 each, not sure.
