Hello
We are interested in buying an established property bounded by large hedges. I have looked a lot on this forum and learnt alot about the various hedging types. I think this is some form of conifer hedge, but am not too sure as to the exact type. Maybe Leighton Green? The property was built in the 30s and the hedges look like they have been there forever... how long do these hedges "live for"? And how long would it take to grow to this height?
Last question - How often would these hedges have to be trimmed? twice a year? how much upkeep is involved in keeping these hedges nice?
I have also read alot here about cypress canker... is that prevalent in Melbourne? If I was to plant further hedges, would I be better avoiding canker prone conifer, or conifer all together?
Cheers.. THis is in Melbourne if that helps
