Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Dec 09, 2011 4:41 pm Fu or other gurus, I have some large yellow gem and big red kanga paws with massive flower stalks (2m)which look like the flowers are getting a bit old. Noticed today that all the foliage around the bottom of the yellow gems has died off, only the leaves on the flower stalks is still green. We have had a bit of hot weather last week, and I suspect the soil may have dried out. The Big Reds look fine. Any ideas as to bringing these back, should I cut off all the old flower stalks and the dead leaves? Hit with seasol and molasses? Hope they can be saved. cheers Re: SOS - Yellow Gem kanga paws look like they are carkin it 2Dec 10, 2011 3:02 pm Yeah mate. I saw a heap here do a similar thing. If things go bad, just cut back to the ground. Some zeolite wouldn't go astray. Do you recommend I cut back to the ground asap then or just remove dead foliage and spent flower stalks? Hit with seasol and molasses? cheers Re: SOS - Yellow Gem kanga paws look like they are carkin it 4Dec 11, 2011 8:06 pm Yeah if they look like rubbish, go for it. Cut back to about 1-2inches.
