Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Nov 20, 2011 9:57 am Hi all, Hopefully a very easy question... I'm in the process of setting up automated irrigation and have/am getting all of the bits and pieces I need. However, I'm at a loss to find a single connection piece because I'm not sure what it's called - my setup will be a solenoid, to a disc filter, to a pressure reduction valve and then on towards drip irrigation via 19mm LDPE. The solenoid has a threaded 25mm female output, the disc filter has both a 20mm male input/output and the PRV has a 20mm female input with 20mm male output. So far so good... What I am getting is a 25mm-20mm bush (to connect the solenoid to the disc filter), I believe I can just connect the filter to the PRV without any additional connection piece (correct me if I'm wrong), but I'm unsure how to connect the PRV to my 19mm poly. I've found male thread/poly connection pieces, but not a female thread/poly connection piece. Can anyone enlighten me as to what the connection piece is called? Also, if you think my proposed setup is completely off track, let me know! Irrigation - Connection piece between PRV and LPDE? 2Nov 20, 2011 6:03 pm There is a female thread available. Any good retic shop will have one. Also use an ag fitting to couple the PRV to the 15mm poly riser at the top. You will get a better seal. It never goes rusty or breaks. That would go before the solenoid. Make sure you have a back flow valve fitted also. That needs to go before the tap. Make sure the valve you buy is mains pressure rated. Most are not and are designed to be used as secondary valves in the system. The master valve will be the one holding mains pressure when the system is off.
