You could spend years growing them and then bam, they drop. I had some very nice conifers at my old place which all grew nicely, then some started to die back and leak sap. It took me a while to work out what it was, when I did, I eventually had to get rid of most of them as they were either dead or looked like crap. Choose carefully if you buy conifers.
