Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Feb 07, 2008 1:32 pm We have decided due to the crappy "lawn" (or prickle patch) we currently have we are going to rip it all up and lay new lawn.. The questions I have are:
- Is it better to try and grow your own from seed or use instant lawn; - When is the right time of year to do it; - Where would be the best places to look for instant lawn? Re: Laying New Lawn - when is the right time 3Feb 08, 2008 2:08 am yep good idea. In Adelaide most of your rain is from fronts so I will have a look through weather records to see when the best month is there.
More importantly why is your current lawn all weedy and prickley? If it has happened already it may just happen again. By that I mean do you have a full sun lawn getting a heap of shade? Then the weeds are the dominant plant and grow in place of the lawn you want. was water the problem? If so, will the new lawn get better watering? Just look at things like that before throwing your money into it. EDIT>>> according to this info http://www.weatherzone.com.au/climate/s ... e&lc=23090 your best months are May to Sept and maybe October for rainfall (which = free water for your lawn) EDIT>>> found this as well http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/averages/ ... 3090.shtml We assist homeowners and suppliers to industry investigate the credentials, reputation & credit rating of pool builders.
