Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Oct 07, 2011 5:10 pm OK Problem was to make a path from the house to Margo's sewing room and to my Studio. We were not keen on a concrete path and timber would have been a fire risk for falling embers on bad days. I looked at the cost of concrete pavers and recycled bricks but they would be expensive and living in the country they would require a lot of effort to collect and unload them. Plan 27d was to see if I could make a set of pavers to fit, the box framework was made from scrap timber, the local concreters agreed to call me when they had an excess of concrete from a local job and deliver it. I know I should have started taking photos earlier in the process but once the concrete was on it's way there was not much time to spare. The leftover concrete WAS already sandstone coloured I just took what they had available when they had it available !!! Rough surface was a broom, I should have waited a bit longer to sweep it but I wanted a good rough surface as Margo is very afraid of slipping since her hip replacement. Appreciate that Chippy. I won’t do sand under pavers and will connect all up under pavers, however I was going to do: 1) Roadbase compacted with manual hand tamper 2)… 10 18564 Those span tables can be pushed a little for a low deck if you dont mind a little flex. Last deck I did, I pushed it a little and it was still rock solid - no noticeable… 6 13762 |
