Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Sep 20, 2011 10:38 am I thought I would share our landscaping journey We have been in our house for just over 2 weeks and we are finally getting underway. Our pool is being dug out as I type Here are some "before" pics - as it was yesterday. Our block is down a battle axe, so we have no road frontage. We are going for a tropical/Balinese theme for the landscape Looking from the driveway to the front door Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ From the driveway to the back of the block Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Along the front of the house looking towards the driveway Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ From the alfresco looking over where the pool will be Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Along the side of the house Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Looking from the empty land behind our house Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Tamara1975 - Landscaping - a work in progress :) 2Sep 20, 2011 10:40 am Re: Tamara1975 - Landscaping - a work in progress :) 3Sep 20, 2011 1:46 pm awesome... so many threads the follow!!! you have plants everywhere ready to go! this will be cool to watch! i bet days like the last few have you itching for the pool to be done! Yeah, I am looking forward to the pool, though the water has to be pretty warm before I will get in lol. The insulation upgrades were worth it. Our house is so nice and cool. I have been buying plants for a while. Picking up bargains and buying them small so they are a decent size when we plant them. I grew my own bamboo from seed. I think the landscaping will come together fairly quickly once the pool fencing goes in Tamara1975 - Landscaping - a work in progress :) 6Sep 20, 2011 5:40 pm I look forward to watching your landscaping journey. ------------ Sent from my mobile device ... please excuse the typing missed cakes. ~ trying to build our dream home by the sea ~ Re: Tamara1975 - Landscaping - a work in progress :) 7Sep 22, 2011 10:31 am Pool progress over the past coupleof days Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The concrete will be sprayed on tomorrow Re: Tamara1975 - Landscaping - a work in progress :) 8Oct 02, 2011 8:13 pm This landscaping stuff is very time consuming lol. The pool has been concreted. The pavers and stack ston has arrived for the coping and waterfall. Hopefully it will all be done next week. Hubby started on the pool fencing today. He has monday and tuesday off, so hopefully we will have some progress pics. We have several things started, but nothing finished and ready for pics yet. Hubby is finishing the retaining wall out the front too, so I am hoping to stain it and get it all planted next weekend!! Yours is looking great. Great that you were there taking pics as it happens. They did ours so quick, by the time we got there on the second day, they were just finishing the concreting. I will takes pics of mine when I am down there next. I think they want to finish our pool as the house is going to final stages soon. All their gear is there but its raining... You have some lovely coloured water in your pool also, lol Re: Tamara1975 - Landscaping - a work in progress :) 15Oct 17, 2011 8:05 am tan39 Had to have a quick look at your pool when you asked about my stacker stone on my pool water feature. We are getting concrete put down hopefully next week and then we'll finish the fencing. We have borrowed more money to finish the landscaping. I am so sick of the mud when it rains. Re: Tamara1975 - Landscaping - a work in progress :) 16Oct 17, 2011 8:10 am Jb pools is doing our pool, but basically we just told our builder what we wanted and he is organising everything for us as we included it in the contract. He has to do garden beds, turf, driveways and footpath, retaining walls, fencing, etc. The only thing we have to do is putting plants in the garden beds. I can imaging you getting sick of the mud when it rains... Its like quicksand isnt it, if you walk on the wrong spot, your feet just sink into the ground...
