Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Sep 16, 2011 8:34 am Hi Guys, I had my Sir Walter buffalo grass layed about 6 months ago. In my backyard, where the mornings are protected by the house and fence, the grass flourishes and is a very thick dark green. it looks immaculate. However, in teh front yard, it looks a little yellowish and patchy. I take it this is because of the cold weather? I just had a few things i needed some guidance with... In my front yard, i can still see the gaps where the grass was layed, how do i get rid of that? Should i be filling it up with soil so the grass can grow accross? The grass still feels a little lumpy as if the soil was not levelled out well enough... should i again use soil to even it out? And when should i treat the grass so that i can go a nice green colour? do i need to put that sir walter booster? thanks for your help? Re: Sir Walter Buffalo help 2Sep 16, 2011 9:26 am Hey mate, I had a similar issue. I am actually surprised to see someone else in the exact same boat. viewtopic.php?f=19&t=51064 It must surely be the weather, I take it. Re: Sir Walter Buffalo help 3Sep 16, 2011 11:56 am Yeh im assuming its the cold weather... i just need to know now.. how i can treat it as i get the lines in between the patches of grass that was layed... and also how to feed the grass so it flourishes Re: Sir Walter Buffalo help 4Sep 19, 2011 12:18 am There must be several hundred threads with your answers laid out on a platter for you. Follow the turf farm advice or what your local garden centre advises and find the same old expensive problems happening. It's all in the soil Re: Sir Walter Buffalo help 5Sep 19, 2011 12:19 am If you fertilise the lawn, you are not feeding the soil. Feed the soil and let the soils biology feed the lawn. Fertilise the lawn and harm the soils biology. Re: Sir Walter Buffalo help 7Sep 19, 2011 2:34 pm If there is actual gaps between the rolls to the soil underneath just grab some topsoil from somewhere else in the yard and fill the gaps as you would with paving. Water in and over the next month or so the turf will spread into the soil closing the gaps. If you can just see the lines, then just wait another month once the soil warms up and the grass will mesh together better. Hi there, long-time lurker but first time posting. I've bought a house 2 and a bit years ago and last year we had some major water damage on a converted pergola area… 0 7936 Yes, unless you are in a low intensity rainfall area or the area is protected from rain. Do you have access to NCC Part 2 or can you download it? I can email you a copy… 10 12523 Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7170 |
