How do seal this joint or should it be OK to just butt it up against the wall? The wall will be backfilled with soil and I dont want it creeping through the joint, esp when it rains etc. Re: Joining Retaining Walls 2Aug 03, 2011 4:11 pm What material is the retaining wall made of? If it's brick or besser blocks etc you can coat the joint with a waterproofing agent available from most hardware stores. It will be hard to achieve a perfect waterproof seal if other materials like timber or mortar-less blocks are used for the retaining wall. Rgds Leonard.
