I'm no greenie but lawns and plants are an integral part of our eco cycle and structure and even though I live in Melb where there is no water and it is tempting ( I am building from scratch) I will not go for the synthetic stuff in the end. It's like plastic vs real Christmas tree and the real tree from a replanted plantation always is better for the environment in the end. When I walk past my neighbours house on a hot day,( mind you he does have water holding tanks) it feels so cool due to the amount of greenery and shade. All the cats in the street hang out there on hot days. I know, I got excited when this stuff came out too but after much education and evaluation, I'm sticking to lawn.
