Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Jul 09, 2011 2:09 pm Just a quick question, since I recall reading, "Has good winter colour." Does that mean it doesn't yellow at all? Ours has yellow blades throughout...not patches but an even amount of yellow dispersed through the turf. We did the lawn prep, molasses, Seasol, Seamungus, Shades of Green... Re: What does EZ look like in winter? 2Jul 09, 2011 7:51 pm ours is like that in some patches more than others. it's ok. it will recover when it is a bit warmer. it's been pretty frosty. Re: What does EZ look like in winter? 3Jul 10, 2011 8:06 am Once it matures i would think it would stay pretty green year round in perths climate. There will always be dis-colouring to some extent with all warm season grasses in winter it just depends mainly on the weather and secondly lawn care. Re: What does EZ look like in winter? 4Jul 10, 2011 10:29 am i am pretty sure Fu said something about give it a bit of time. if it's only it's first winter it isn't mature yet. Ours went down late last spring. I'll go grab a pic or two and upload for you. We did have a big long strip that was very yellow and one patch. Both in areas where the improved soil was the poorest. But there is def a yellowing overall as well. These were taken just after 8 this morning. That's what ours looks like as well, more or less. So, I suppose it's normal for the first winter and should be better in years to come once it's more established. What should we be doing for winter care? I put Seamungus on, but would liquid blood and bone be beneficial as well? Re: What does EZ look like in winter? 6Jul 10, 2011 2:33 pm Guys, kexkez lawn is a great colour for this time of year even though its young. To put it into perspective my 2 year old organic care EZ is golden brown in melb. No matter how yellow/brown it goes it will green up in spring no probs. Re: What does EZ look like in winter? 7Jul 10, 2011 10:54 pm My EZ is seeing it's first Winter and it's still somewhat green mixed with patchy golden browns. I'm not worried about it. It will bounce back once the temp increases in spring. Re: What does EZ look like in winter? 8Jul 10, 2011 11:37 pm If you have followed the turf farms advice or the soil place advice, you can bet it will look like absolute poo. If you have done your reading here at homeone and followed the soil prep advice to the letter, then it will also look like poo... this winter, but the next won't be so bad, the one after better still and provided you seek your turf advice from me, you'll see it looking great the rest of the year too. No the fireplace doesn’t work. It’s been enclosed. Looking at the Boston Oak ones, it appears that the colour varies significantly… 0 9137 I've just built 3 stairs off a landing out the back and been told by the private certifier I need hand rails sorry tried to attach a pic but couldn't mine don't have sides… 5 5692 |
