Here is one for those who have / the professionals amongst us. I am building a retaining wall using 190(mm) h*390 l*90 w blocks, sitting on a concrete reinforced foundation. Color of the blocks is a sandstone color, similar to this: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ or this: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The wall will be 2 blocks high (390mm total), and not load bearing. Do I need to put mortar between the levels or can I use an adhesive (liquid nails or similar). If mortar, how can I color match it to the blocks, ie what type of cement, what type of sand, do I need a color additive etc etc. Thanks in advance Adrian B Re: Mortar color 2Jan 21, 2008 8:25 am Adrian, by the pics, they are the C&M brand. We've used them a few times and have had them about 5 courses high, plus capping, from memory...
They interlock together but we also used liquid nails for a bit of extra strength...The C&M ones are really easy to use... Good Luck.
