Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design Re: grass for fully shade side yard 6Jun 14, 2011 3:12 pm tobytot Hi Fu, Thanks for the suggestions. Will consider those ground covers. Preferably to have lawn so that kids can play there. But the condition may not be optimal. Use grass if its for kids and where its shaded all year round put a path or garden bed. I am gathering the shaded area in summer would be close to the house hence the garden bed or path. As i said plenty of lawns this far south in Melb get bugger all sun in winter. If you choose Zoysia, Kikuyu, or couch you can mix them with cool season grass seed which will thrive in wet shaded conditions over winter and go dormant in summer while the main grass takes over. (This is what i do in part of my front yard). The buffalo's will go ok but won't where anywhere near as wear tolerant as the above blend because they can't be mixed with cool season grasses very well. can someone with more experience give me their insight? land is pretty much flat its pretty much at the top of a hill. left and right neighbours are flat in line with my… 0 7497 2 4424 there should be ss cable so you can pull up bore pump for service 1 3208 |
