I plan to make a path from our front gate to the meter box and have the rest of our front yard as garden. It won't be a frequently used path as the main route to the front door will be via the driveway. We have a large deciduous tree in the front yard which makes a mess when its fine leaves drop each year. The previous brick paver path that used to be there would stay damp and get moss growing. I was thinking a path made of mulch may be a better way to go and perhaps be a lower maintenance solution. (I'm imagining the pathways they have through the rainforest to Mossman Gorge and the like.)
Our front yard is sand so I was thinking of putting in the pathway with crackerdust and then placing the mulch on top.
Are there some downsides to having a mulch path? Is there a best sort of mulch to get for the pathway?
TIA
