Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 May 18, 2011 7:26 pm Hi Can anyone tell me how deep the storm water pipes from downpipes going to soak wells should be? Some of mine are ~1cm below the surface for the top level of the pipe and this does not seem adequate coverage for the pipe to me... Thanks in advance Re: Storm Water pipe depth 2May 18, 2011 8:27 pm there is no minimum. It is defined by the available fall. Re: Storm Water pipe depth 4May 18, 2011 10:03 pm The storm water drains should be a minimum of 100mm below natural soil level (measured from the top of the stormwater pipe). Hi Wandering, My building inspector quoted this section in his report when we had similar issues. I don't have a copy of the BCA myself. However......I just googled and found a site that seems to have it. There's a bit more detail eg different depth requirements depending on if the pipe is below a path, or an area subject to light vehicular traffic. Hello I am developing 2 side by side units.
