Or doing a lawn from scratch? Re: Lawn Preparation for oncoming winter in Melbourne 3May 07, 2011 9:38 pm I rolled out Palmetto in my front yard Nov last spring...Lawn has been great followed all your (FU) advise. The back and nature strip is aged Kikuyi and very lush and controlled/edged. The lawns have been the main garden feature and I'm trying to get a heads up for next spring. A couple of weeks ago I spiked the lawns with aerating boots I purchased on the net then gave them a decent dose of molasses/power feed/seamungus/seasol. We then received 15mm rain next day..good timing Should I give it another dose as well as blood and bone. Was at bunnings today looking at blood and bone but confused at what I should buy I also want to put in some bulbs and dig in some blood and bone before I put the bulbs in....do I use the same blood & B for the lawn and garden beds?? I'm very new to gardening but my yard is looking great with much help from here You surely are a gardeners best friend Fu Lawn Preparation for oncoming winter in Melbourne 4May 08, 2011 8:30 am Agghhhhhhh ha. Well great topic to start I'll go into more detail this arvo. You won't need much at all. As for gardeners best friend ,well I do talks for local garden clubs every now and then and I always learn something from them I hope really that non gardeners can use this to get it right doing their landscape and continue on being non gardeners... Or hopefully they turn their landscape into a garden. Re: Lawn Preparation for oncoming winter in Melbourne 5May 08, 2011 10:39 am Hi Guys I have just been looking for this topic! I would also be very interested on what to do with established lawn in Melbourne. I have Sir Walter that was laid in July last year and it has been going wonderfully, with dog and all! I have been regularily applying seasol, powerfeed, molasses and seamungas, however would like to know if there is anything else I should be doing? Your advise would be much appreciated Fu! Thanks Lawn Preparation for oncoming winter in Melbourne 6May 08, 2011 4:13 pm Your answers are covered off well in the "my lawn is stuffed how do I fix it?" threads. However I provide more later. Going to redo a pond in a while so I'll say tonight WA time I'll get pics of the pond too by the way for those "hassling" me about it the leaves that are now underground go yellow, the tips that poke through photosynthesise and have chlorophyll, same reason they grow rhubarb in the dark. 5 4835 I do enjoy the drama:-D In his latest two videos he has started bringing security guards to site, I am waiting for the punch on to begin lol 6 45498 It's all about wireless, self install now. The cost/benefit of wired setups for the house are no longer what they used to be. Lots of wireless options. Eufy, Arlo and… 2 9780 |
