Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Apr 23, 2011 2:54 pm Hi all,
I've posted some of these pics before but I figured now that I'm finished I'd put them all into a thread and show the finished product. Pretty much all of it I did myself on a budget and as such many corners were cut and things aren't perfect but I'm fairly happy with how it turned out. House is on the market now and I've bought an acre in the Dandenongs instead. I went for mainly Conifers in the front and Natives in the back with an English box hedge down the side. I'm sure you'll enjoy the location and surrounds though! old place looks good too "Your emotions are the slaves to your thoughts, and you are the slave to your emotions." — Elizabeth Gilbert Living in our new house. I couldn't make up my mind but after looking at some smaller places in Ringwood I decided that I'd go mental living in a unit or on another small block. I'm already getting bored now that I've finished the old place. Eventually at some point I always wanted to own a place on a bit of land with nice surroundings but just didn't think I could do it right away. The new place was a bit of a bargain and I took out a big loan but I think I'll be glad I did. Best part is I can sit outside and not see or hear a single car, person or dog and just listen to the birds and take in the view. Only drawback is it needs a bit of work and the nature strip is a 1/4 acre to mow by itself let alone the rest. It's a bit of a lifestyle change but I think it will be for the better. Re: Mozzie's Landscaping adventure - Finished! 10Apr 26, 2011 8:37 pm well, I'm sure that maintaining an acre is less work at least in the beginning than starting a backyard rom scratch, which is normally what you do when you build! and hey there's always Jim's mowing for the quarter acre nature strip "Your emotions are the slaves to your thoughts, and you are the slave to your emotions." — Elizabeth Gilbert Living in our new house. Great foliage colours contrast and really different from the norm. Great job. Re: Mozzie's Landscaping adventure - Finished! 13Apr 29, 2011 9:46 pm Really nice job, Mozzie. Love the terracing at the back. The new place looks great. I don't envy you the mowing, but I'm sure the peace and beautiful surroundings will be worth it. interesting situation what happened after builder issued final invoice? did you list as defect or not does the building surveyor have any responsibility? ie. issuing… 13 46960 Building Standards; Getting It Right!
