Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Apr 21, 2011 9:31 am Hi Guys, First post Just bought a new house last year and now finally getting around to starting some DIY projects around the place. First will be a new retaining wall in my backyard as the old one collapsed during a massive deluge of rain. Was poorly constructed with no drainage I can see Anyway, could someone please tell me what the function of this pipe is as it will need to be relocated slightly to make way for the new wall. Thanks heaps! It may be an electrical cable for planned garden lighting that never happened. I don't know why they would have had it up so high unless they were going to have bollards in the garden?? Anyway, folow it back and see if it's plugged into a junction point or something. There is a shed close by so they could have been planning to run power to it.... I'll dig carefully around it and see where it runs. Hopefully not directly under the concrete pathway! I was worried it was a ground spike to earth the house electrics..... Cheers Poida Re: What is this PVC post in my backyard? 4Apr 21, 2011 11:50 am No. They have to be very close to the meter, usually right under it. And they are metal spikes, not PVC.
