Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Apr 10, 2011 3:55 pm Ok , so we need to have a retaining wall to street side of the house (we have a corner block) and stockland require it to have lapped and caper treated timber in between the pillars.... Something like this http://www.facaderetainingsystems.com.a ... l#gallery3 but not that high, max height needs to be 1.8m... Does anyone know another company that does this in sydney.. i would like to start geting some quotes and comparing them... Length wise its 26m long. Re: FACADE RETAINING WALL SYSTEMS 2Apr 11, 2011 10:10 am Do you mean like this? Anyone who can do a wall will do this for you. The only hiccup you'll have is anything over 1.0mt high above ground will require an engineers design. Ours was 1.2mt at it tallest. It was $385 per m2 or $462 per lineal meter at 1.2 high. If you need it at 1.8 that will require bigger steel and timber so the cost will be higher. Best would be to only get the sections you need done in the bigger stuff to save costs. It think you'll be up for around the $6-700 per lineal meter @ 1.8mt high (just a guess based on costs) Could be more. You will have to get an engineer to design it before you can get it quoted as most wouldn't quote us before seeing the design. You will need a Civil Engineer to do the design. We used the guy that did our slab design too. Hope that helps. Re: FACADE RETAINING WALL SYSTEMS 4Apr 11, 2011 11:41 am as i understand the BRAACE system is based upon hebal power pannels. I was looking at DIY for a 600mm wall - but its hard to find any sort of reliable information and the dealers I have spoken too were not much better Re: FACADE RETAINING WALL SYSTEMS 5Apr 11, 2011 11:54 am yeah i seem to be finding it hard to track down a company that does this type of thing... I mean there is always the option of doing it in brick but might cost less to do it with the BRAACE system . Re: FACADE RETAINING WALL SYSTEMS 6Apr 11, 2011 4:35 pm It will work out cheaper - if the size of your fence matches up with the size of their pannels. From what I understood, because of all the reo in the pannels they are a PITA to cut to size Still thinking about going this way - just have not found enough solid information Thank you again Simeon.. I will call my certifier for that. Have a good day 4 5189 Thanks for the insights, that makes perfect sense, and yeah, I will be leaning on the experience of the excavator operator entirely. 6 16147 Hi All, I engaged a tradie to install concrete retaining wall 600-800mm high over 32 meters in Victoria.
