There are some crackers of those. Acacia merinthophora is the ultimate for soft leaves, weeping but still upright form, good height, great flower. The wet though maybe a hassel Cold will be fine but wet feet? Hibiscus Apple Blossom. There are loads of Eucs that are nice and small but no soft leaves. Hakeas also. Feijoa sellowiana but has a more leathery leaf. Evergreens are ever messy though. They are always shedding leaves through the whole year rather than once a year. However privacy maybe an issue and in which case evergreen would be ideal. Lemon or citrus also would be good. Leaves too leathery though? Bauhinia alba but the leaves might drop sometimes if it gets really cold. Metrosideros excelsa, leaves not much good though too leathery. Quite a few Grevilleas but again, the leaves aren't going to meet requirements. hhmmmmmm There are some cracking trees but they are deciduous.
