Re: One year on 45Apr 21, 2011 12:25 am That Agave and Yucca will be a handful before long. This winter when the mulberry losses its leaves and nudes up. Trim it out so it only hangs 1/3rd of what it is now. It'll grow back fast enough Get another stake, pull the other two and drop the three stakes around the tree in a fairly close-ish fashion. Then tie something round the three of them. That way the tree can fall about a bit and thicken and strengthen its trunk up. As it is, it might not do that. This will be a very top heavy plant so make sure it is as strong as an ox and unfortunately staking trees makes for trees that fall over in years to come. When pruning it prune back to and arching shoot that heads up more. You want height and that will also provide better width on it too Re: One year on 46Apr 21, 2011 7:35 am Thanks Fu; I was going to ask about pruning the mulberry this year. Wasn't sure how much to take off it. I removed the ties a while back, but I'll re-stake it the right way so it'll hold up against the wind. Perhaps eBay? Re: One year on 57Jan 09, 2013 2:19 pm Yeah, you gotta be careful wqith how much space you leave for stuff to grow. You can very quickly lose access to what were once nice unobstructed paths. How wide is the area in the first shot from the edge of the house to the fence? Re: One year on 59Feb 16, 2013 9:40 pm Thanks for posting this image We are getting a couple as part of our landscape plan for the front yard (2 x trees required) and were a little unsure about the plant so it's nice to see one a year in. I know it will vary, but has yours shot up much? We are planning on purchasing some plants from local nurseries in the near future to give us a head start - our land is still unregistered so we thought we may as well, while we still have money haha! Your garden looks lovely! Hope those Little Gems are coming along nicely, lol.. Kristen & Stephen - Built the Eden Brae Drysdale 27 at Oran Park (We're in!!!) The front garden doesn't get much watering and it's been a dry summer, but this is one plant that's surviving well. Big thumbs-up from me. Your house roof does not show rusting other than some surface rust on the flashings. In my opinion you dont need to replace or paint the roof other than treat surface rust… 1 10105 Very common on rendered homes Smaller suppliers get the lower quality raw materials 6 11803 4 14131 |
