Do you have to submit a plan to council and did you go through a landscaper to do it? What did you pay? We have 3 platforms cut into our block so I wonder if it's worth getting a landscapers view or just DIY-ing it? What are your thoughts? Do you have to submit a plan to council and did you go through a landscaper to do it? What did you pay? We have 3 platforms cut into our block so I wonder if it's worth getting a landscapers view or just DIY-ing it? What are your thoughts? We had to submit a landscape plan to the developer for approval as we're building in an estate (Stonecutters Ridge) and I believe the landscape plan for council is to do with the BASIX (in NSW). I have another friend building in Penrith Council area (just a normal block, not in an estate) and she had to amend her landscape plan to include more native plants from the local area otherwise would had to have installed a bigger rainwater tank to meet some requirement (either council or BASIX)... I would personally get a landscapers opinion rather than DIY if it's required to meet regulations, as they would know what is required for it to pass in your area. I would probably still get a landscaper to have a look at it regardless to ensure that there wouldn't be any problems with drainage, or trees overhanging house etc... Council require landscape plan? 3Apr 15, 2011 3:30 pm If you have a look at the sticky threads at the top if the forum there is one there called how to choose a landscaper. In that will be the contact for the NSW landscape association. Give them a call. It will also be a good reference if you want a recognised landscaper. These sorts of policies are, whether you like it or not, a really great thing for urban landscapes in both the short and especially the long term. Re: Council require landscape plan? 4Apr 15, 2011 4:09 pm Thanks for your replies. I am actually quite interested to see what a landscaper will come up with us for our garden as there will be either quite a lot of retaining or quite a lot of cutting involved! *gulp* I was just wondering whether I should go with the builders mob or find my own... I guess it doesn't really matter at the end of the day. Re: Council require landscape plan? 5Apr 15, 2011 5:59 pm Call the Landscape industry association first. It's just a phone call and they might have some excellent advice to further help Overall it depends on who is the builders landscape mob? I know here in WA if a builder said to me do you want to use one of our landscapers I'd feint like a school girl at a Justin Bieber concert. I'd be using a WA Landscape designers association (WALDA) member instead. Landscape Design Parramatta We have been doing a large amount of landscape design work in Sydney… 0 3 Need advice on the backyard plan above. Should I excavate and cut all of the dirt to level with the house slab or semi-excavate as per photo above? Both left and right… 0 24864 Thanks very much! And would the landscaper/contractor generally involve the engineer or is that something the client would do? Thanks for your help 2 10025 |
