Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Mar 13, 2011 2:57 pm Hi, We have recently landscaped our back yard (Melbourne) and put down organic soil mix (not sure of exact type). We then put down seed. The lawn that is growing is patchy and sparse, so we are thinking that we will cut our losses and replace it with instant lawn - most likely Sir Walter. Our question is, do we need to dig up the existing seed/lawn? It is only around 2 - 3 weeks since we put down the seed so not much there. Thank you Re: Lawn advice... what to do 2Mar 13, 2011 7:52 pm Just rake it out or a hit of round up. Get your SW sooner than later for the best result. Re: Lawn advice... what to do 3Apr 05, 2011 1:21 am I'd just lay the SW straight over it. Well actually I'd get more compost down and level it over the existing stuff. It would be unlikely to come through and even if it did it won't look to bad. It will be good organic material for the soil. the leaves that are now underground go yellow, the tips that poke through photosynthesise and have chlorophyll, same reason they grow rhubarb in the dark. 5 4857 Versaloc is a mortarless besser block system that still needs a properly engineered footing. If you just do a 400x200 footing it will fail in time. At 17m long you need it… 1 17300 Thank you so much for the effort. We will use it to talk with builder. We also had idea of building duplex instead and seeking suggest ions. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=106744 11 13830 |
