Discovered this amazingly fragrant and beautiful vine (bunches of corkscrewing flower) growing over a fence nearby. I'm planning on taking a cutting and then sneaking some seed pods if they form
Just wondered if anyone has any experience of growing this gorgeous plant in Melbourne area?
I understand that it's fairly hardy, will die back and regrow every year and likes full sun.
Also seen some reports of it being invasive, but I suspect that was the cultivar (with a different name to confuse us!!). Phaseolus caracalla (snail vine), has small single flowers rather than bunches that only curl a little so look like a snails shell, and have no fragrance at all.
Has anyone experienced invasiveness?
