Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Mar 07, 2011 1:51 pm We have had a staghorn for a number of years and it has grown to quite a size and always looked really good. We moved to a rental while we are building and it is not looking so good. We can't attach it to a wall so it is attached to an old chair and we've kept it out of the hot Adelaide sun over summer. I wondered what we can do to cheer it up and getting it looking healthy again - what position should it be in the garden, what should we feed it? Thanks for your help. Re: Help save my Staghorn 2Mar 08, 2011 9:44 pm It's fine It is as much a living thinmg as you ir I. Well I am an enigma wrapped in a riddle but y9ou, you are living It is having a hard time adjusting to the new environment But it will get there So to help it, a weak solution of seasol. Only weak, nothing more is really needed as these primitive plants need very little nutrients. I would also do a very weak solution of molasses in water and apply that. Now you are best to keep it moist and the chair might be a bit breezy so it is having a tanty Even cover the wonderful thing with a large clear plastic bag, a few small holes and spray water up into *** every few days lightly. Get it protected under a veranda and out of sun and wind. Then find it a new home and it will again change and just repeat the above and it will settle down It should throw out some new leaves which will cover the crummy ones and in time will be happy again Re: Help save my Staghorn 3Mar 09, 2011 7:40 am Thanks Fu - I have been giving it a little seasol every now and then - trouble is it is a bit breezy where we are so will try and protect it. I was worried it wouldn't survive!
