Would you buy a motor mower or a ride on?
If you used a motor mower, how long would you expect it to take? And with a ride on?
Thanks

Now the guy comes and does the backyard and it takes around 25mins... more obstacles now though. The next door block was mowed before they built (around 1500m2). They had two motor mowers going and it took hours. lol I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. That was with a 19inch mower (around average size). I'm thinking 1000m of not longer than 2-3 weeks growth peak grow time would take 5-7hrs. It'll depend on what you do with the grass, how thick it is and the shape of the land along with slope etc... I guess it comes down to what you want to use the turf for? Are you planning on having it all as one open yard? Or could some of it be fenced off. If it can be divided and you only wanted to keep some of it lowish, you could mow the part you want nice and just slash the rest, but if you are paying to have 1000m2 of turf laid, then go for the ride on. Personally I'd go the ride on most times. But the grass needs to be mowed regularly to be able to use them. They DO NOT like long grass Re: Mowing 1000m2 + of turf 5May 05, 2011 6:28 am Definitely a ride on. Get one with either a catcher or better still a mulching mechanism if you can afford it. Less clippings sitting on the ground, particularly near the house is bliss. Mulching will help the lawns health as well, provided you mow it regularly enough. They using concrete or timber sleepers? Timber or steel uprights? Any drainage behind sleeper? 3 6018 |
