Controller will be $200 plus easy. Ones sold for less are not really worth using. Sprinkler body and nozzle $7 each. Wire needs to be considered. How many stations will you need? Then we know how many valves at $30 each. Need a plan first to know that. How much water comes out the tap? or in other words what is the flow rate? What is the water pressure? We need that to know what types of sprinklers need to be used. Irrigation take-off or cut in is around $150-$200 by a plumber. Re: cost of installing automatic reticulation systme 3Mar 09, 2011 1:43 am Also white PVC or poly going to be used? White PVC is cheap for fittings but the pipe is expensive. The blackpoly is cheap for the pipe and comparatively expensive on fittings. Re: cost of installing automatic reticulation systme 4Mar 19, 2011 1:29 am I forget the brand, but I got them from Bunnings............ For your valve manifold the ONLY type of fittings to use are the "grey o-ring sealed" ones, that you screw together depending on the number of valves you have. The valves screw to the fittings by turning a nut ON THE FITTING and NOT by turning the valve. Believe me, in 5 years time when you have a valve fail and you need to remove it, having these fittings turns a nightmare job into a five-minute job !! Don't even look at the price of these fittings, Just buy them !!!! HTH, P_D . There ways of installing valves on white PVC that achieve the same thing. Re: cost of installing automatic reticulation systme 6Apr 05, 2011 9:40 am Fu Manchu These pre assembled manifolds are available from any irrigation shop. There ways of installing valves on white PVC that achieve the same thing. Thanks Fu, It's been a while since I last needed to buy fittings, I wasn't aware that the grey ones were now available pre-assembled !! Do they come in various sizes to cater for (say) three or four or five solenoids ? When I bought them they were only available as fittings that you just bought as many as you needed to make the manifold to suit your application .... I didn't realise that there was also ways of using white PVC to achieve the same thing, I guess that I should re-phrase my advise to something like..... "Ensure that whatever way you build up your manifold you can remove / replace any valve individually without disturbing any other valves or the manifold". P_D . You can also buy Barrel Unions by themselves to easily undo sections of pipework to enable easy repair or for flushing lines etc. Re: cost of installing automatic reticulation systme 8Apr 05, 2011 11:32 pm Also using common valve designs will mean it will be highly unlikely you ever need to remove the valve body from the manifold. As for premade modular manifolds, there are many types and brands. They used to be expensive but are becoming more mainstream now and cheaper. They save a heap of time for an install. Lots of other colours than grey around also. Some are black too ...but that is a shade, not a colour. ... so is grey ;lol: crap, well there are other shades available as well 2 1688 Hi everyone!
