Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Feb 21, 2011 4:35 pm When Installing the MP Rotators, how much of an overlap does there need to be between each pop up? Also can we just buy the MP heads and retro fit them to the cheap popups? Thanks!! ---- Building in Banksia Grove We have keys - 31st March 2011 Re: Installing Pop-ups (MP Rotators) 3Feb 21, 2011 4:47 pm Thanks!! ---- Building in Banksia Grove We have keys - 31st March 2011 Re: Installing Pop-ups (MP Rotators) 4Feb 21, 2011 4:55 pm Make sure you time your shiny new rotators to see how long it takes to deliver 10mm (fill a plastic lid from one of those brekky fruit containers, recommends Fu). I didn't and nearly killed the lawn before I realised it takes over 50min! these things are sloooowwww! Re: Installing Pop-ups (MP Rotators) 5Feb 22, 2011 12:02 am And applying the water slowly is what it is all about. I have done a post somewhere on hand watering and also another on why lawns and gardens grow better and the different types of rain and why some rain works better than other rain. Ultimately, yes slow and steady wins. Break that watering up into 5 10 min cycles about 10 mns apart and look to reduce the watering. it's even more effective but not all controllers allow that many start times. Most do 3 but make full use of them and shorter more frequent waterings That can reduce water by 25% and increase the effectiveness of it. Able to share? These ones were under $10 each, and when you join, they gave you a $50 coupon, if you spent over $200, so could spend $250 and only pay $200. ---- Building in Banksia Grove We have keys - 31st March 2011 Installing Pop-ups (MP Rotators) 13Jul 20, 2011 9:51 pm You'll need to call them to see if they'll send to Vic. Thats where I'll be getting mine from to replace what they install for my "landscaping package" Installing Pop-ups (MP Rotators) 15Jul 21, 2011 8:22 am I tell you what, those "landscape" packages are an abomination. Re: Installing Pop-ups (MP Rotators) 16Jul 21, 2011 9:26 am Fu Manchu I tell you what, those "landscape" packages are an abomination. Tell me about it! They dropped off the soil improver yesterday, approx 2 maybe 3 barrow loads of some pretty average soil mix to spread over 60m2!! I mentioned during my consultation that I would be doing a little soil improving myself and she warned me against doing it because "we already do it for you and it will void your lawn warranty". I told her I would take my chances 2 cubic metres of organic soil from gardeners direct, plus 45kg each of spongolite and zeolite, bucket of seamungus, 3kg tub of bactivate and 75kg bentonite clay. Should give it a pretty reasonable start! Re: Installing Pop-ups (MP Rotators) 17Jul 21, 2011 11:28 am Fu Manchu I tell you what, those "landscape" packages are an abomination. No kidding Fu, Thats why im grabbing the money instead ($3000) and running. Will be doing everything myself (along with your advice) Re: Installing Pop-ups (MP Rotators) 18Jul 22, 2011 9:35 am If you google bidgee pumps and irrigation they are in NSW Mine should be arriving shortly ---- Building in Banksia Grove We have keys - 31st March 2011 Re: Installing Pop-ups (MP Rotators) 19Aug 04, 2011 3:57 pm Fu and others, has anyone utilised SprinklerWarehouse.com. Their prices are great. $5 for Hunter MP Nozzles and $10 for Hunter Valves. Their controllers are cheap too, $130 for a Irritol rain dial 9 station outdoor! but they suit 110V and wouldnt work here They only do freight forwarding, but if you spend more than $100 its free shipping to the freight forwarder. A friend uses Com Gateway for freight forward from US to Perth, good rates and you can consolidate (combine) items from different shops you buy.
