I am so ** now ! After two months of hardwork, digging and digging, my backyard was ready for a easy finish. I was planning to pour some granitic sand on top and it should be finish after a easy compacting. Now have to re-do everything!
This was the second time I tried with Granitic sand. The first time was good experience, quite easy job. Was ordered from a different supplier. Very dry sand, white and ckean. After a few compactor and a bit watering, the job was done with excellent result. But this time, totally different story.
Got the granitic sand from a different supplier, very bad quality. when I shavel them onto my backyard base, the sand was very wet and sticky... then tried to compact them with the small compactor I hired from Bunning, the worst happened, the sand stuck underneath the compactor and the compactor stopped moving! I now got my backyard covered with half yellowish poo like sand... and my neighbour's "lovely" cat will soon come **** all over the place and also into that pile of sand I got left in front of my nature strip!
I cannot use the sand left, as the quality is way too bad. I know it's been raining a lot laterly, but even after three days drying, the sand is still in **** like color... It was not the case last time, it should turn white after dry...
i am now planning try remove the sticky sand as much as possible and order some better quality one. The remove part will be hard work, if too wet, the sand is sticky, if too dry the sand basically turn concrete like solid! I am fxcked anyway...
For anyone out there thinking to use Granitic Sand, be careful, make sure it's as dry as possible and is not in solid chuncks forms.
Lesson's learned.
