Thanks for the tips Fu Manchu. I've been doing the tips here. If I may, I'd like to discuss my current situation. We bought the property about a year and a half ago. It was a display home hence there was already lawn in the front and the back of the property. It has wintergreen couch (I have no choice). The first thing I noticed was the lawn was uneven at the front. And there are lots weeds growing on it...different kinds but mostly broad leaf and just after the winter, winter grass. Before I would pluck them which is manageable. The trouble is we went for a holiday and when we got back boom so many of them. It took me a while to pluck them out but I did. It resulted to the lawn having chunks of craters.
I top dressed and overseed. But the seed didn't germinate. Before I found this site, I used feed and weed and fertilizers. I thought I was doing the lawn (and soil) good until I found the info here from your posts.
Now I'm using Blood & Bone, Molasses, Power Feed, Seasol. I have applied Munn's as well twice already this summer as you've suggested. There are a couple more that I need to do which is zeolyte and Olsen's green bio. As you've mentioned, I can still apply Zeolyte but I need to aerate. I did aerate before. Rented a machine to do that. I guess I'll just do it manually this time (to get a bit of exercise as well ) and apply zeolye afterwards. With regards to the Green Bio, I looked at one bunnings store and they dont have it in stock anymore. Just wondering where I can get them from Sydney (Blacktown Area). I haven't gone to other Bunnings stores, which I'm planning to do later in the week. Is there a substitute for Olsen's green bio? toYou've also mentioned Perlite. I guess I have to do it a later time though. Maybe a week apart. I'm due to apply blood and bones in a week and the molasses/powerfeed/seasol concoction a week after. BTW, I'm only using Amgrow Bindi and took me awhile to find the Amgrow winter weed killer.
By the way, I noticed there are some other species of grass growing in the lawn. I pluck them out if I notice them and if I have the time. Is there a way to eradicate them completely?
Thanks a bunch. Apologies for the long post
