Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Feb 11, 2011 11:40 am Hi Guys, I've just purchased a place and the retic system has seen better days. When i first got in, the retic system worked fine in the sense that it turned on, and each station activated fine. I left it for a month while i concentrated on indoor work and when i came to sort the retic out the system won't turn on at all. What is the most likely problem? I have gone straight to the solarnoid to check the wiring, however the box is full to the brim with sand, is the easiest way around this just to dig it out as best i can? Is the wiring likely to be buggered? Once that issue is sorted... One of the stations out the back (lawn) has a clean snap in the piping with each end of the piping being full of sand. Once I get the system operational do I just need to remove a few of the heads and flush it out? Any advice would be great, i really have little/no experience in retic. Re: Retic Issues 2Feb 11, 2011 7:23 pm Start at the retic controller. Have you ever used a Multi-meter before? What about a 12-24volt test light? (looks like screw driver) Re: Retic Issues 3Feb 13, 2011 10:33 pm Are you there? I will need to dig out the pics I have on testing the terminals in the controller. Just let me know. If it is an old system, it won't hurt to get a more water wise controller in there. See if it all works then. Anyway might not be a bad idea to dig out the valves, clear the crap away. Check the wiring connections. Maybe redo them with 3m gel connectors. Draw up a map of where the lines are and valves too. Get a chatterbox or valve finder from the retic shop. That will help locate the valves if they are buried, hidden or you just can't find them. Easy to use. I have pics of that as well somewhere. Flush the lines, yes remove all the heads. Not just the end one. then go along, get soaked and screw them back on one by one as it is all still running. 5 mins would see a good flush. Leave the end one and switch the line off. Then screw that one in. I am looking at building a house. Has anyone used Construkt Homes (based in Adelaide)?
