I have a north facing wall which I have trained a creeper (not sure of its name) but think its a type of jasmanoide (has no perfume). Anyway, I'm not happy with the look after 2 years of growing. Has grown quiet vigorously and now looks untidy. Has some large woody stalks. As this section is semi formal (has camellias, magnolias, azaleas etc) I'm wanting something that will look neat and tidy. Has to be reasonably hardy due to the north facing wall.
I'm in northern NSW so have a great climate.
I know camelias make great espaliers - but I also know they are extremely slow growing .
I'm probably wanting the impossible - neat/compact growth habit with reasonably fast growth rate. Cant be jasmine etc as hubby highly allergic.
Happy for it to flower, however it doesnt have to.
Dont want anything weedy eg. ivy.
Not keen on the mandavilla either. I do like them - but not sure????
