You will probably have the tedious job of manually shoveling out the rubble and building crud. I would just walk around with the shovel pushing it in a spade depth pulling out chunks as you go, this will also break up the clay and make rotary hoeing way quicker. The rotary just bounces off anything hard. Another option if a dingo fits you can rip the soil and then remove the crap before hoeing. Either way with heavy clay do it while it's moist (not wet).
