The bit of my brain that makes decisions seems to be broken at the moment. So I need some help please, lovely H1ers...
I need something to fill this narrow strip against the fence. It's only about 400mm deep and 2400mm long:
It's my daily view from my studio, so I want it to look pretty - and to hide the fence as much as possible:
This is the garden to one side:
And to the other:
I plan to put a comfy chair out there, and probably move the potted cumquat that you can see in the third photo to one corner of the paved area. This is on the north-west side of the house, so it gets quite a lot of sun in summer (except when the awning is extended) - but not so much in winter, as the sun's angle means the fence provides shade for a lot of the afternoon.
I left this area unplanted because we were going to build a pergola to shade the sliding door and I was waiting till the posts were in before planting anything. Long story, but we ended up going with the awning instead, so now I can finally fill the bare spot.
It's a bit tricky, since there isn't a lot of room. Any ideas....? I'll consider anything. Except garden gnomes.
