Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Dec 29, 2010 7:42 pm I am after some trellis ideas for my colorbond fencing. I'd be using it for a number of applications - plants that need to be up against a trellis... to get climbers/vines growing along the fenceline... for kiwi/passionfruit... and basically to start breaking up the great expanses of bare fence! I am a gardening & homeowner newbie. With colorbond fencing, I am guessing that I can't screw things into the fence? How can I increase the height with the fenceline (without buying the costly extension lattice)? Any ideas and tips, links and pictures most appreciated! Thank you Re: Trellis ideas for colorbond fencing 2Dec 29, 2010 10:31 pm Drop in some star pickets or dare I say it, treated pine posts. Seal the ends with the new stuff available Re: Trellis ideas for colorbond fencing 3Jan 01, 2011 4:35 pm I am looking at covering my colourbond fence with Bamboo panels....... But as for a trellis..... I am also a newbi home owner and a keen gardener I am gonna put my hand to Espalier using a star jasmine...... I am about to do an Espalier on a front street view rendeered wall.... star jasmine being a climbing thin vine doing a diamond shape (criss/cross) using eye bolts and thin steel wire. But you can use citrus trees as espalier also. Google it...... Good luck..... Seal the ends with the new stuff available Am just about to do the same. I was also worried about screwing srt8 into the fencing posts due to weight issues. The posts is what was recommended for me to do as well. That way your taking the strain off of the fence. Many insurance companies will not payout if the fence is loaded up with climbers and trellis. Your house roof does not show rusting other than some surface rust on the flashings. In my opinion you dont need to replace or paint the roof other than treat surface rust… 1 10214 Hi all, Our boundary perimeter fences need replacing (3 sides). From everyone's experience, what would you install? Timber lapped and capped OR colorbond? Thank you. 0 2886 You should pressure clean your roof first and make sure the paint you buy also is anti mould. 4 18573 |
