Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Dec 09, 2010 8:15 am Hello, We recently had a new colorbond shed installed. We have some old timber shelving that we were thinking of putting into the shed. Can you drill into the side walls of colourbond sheeting? Will this create problems with rain getting i? Are there any shelving alternatives for colorbond sheds that anyone knows of? Any help would be appreciated. Just used the left over green tongue floor sheets as the shelves. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ But I really would like some shelves over the workbench too. We've got some wardrobe shelving that wasn't used in the house and I wanted to get some brackets on the wall. But how do you attach them to the wall? Maybe some vertical risers (flat steel maybe?) screwed to the horizontal purlins and then the shelf brackets screwed to that? I'm just not sure how much load the purlins will take before bending. But like you, we do wonder about how to go about adding shelving to the walls of the shed. I wish there was some information that I could find on the net about how to install shelving on the walls of a colorbond shed so that we can know just how much load the c sections can take. It seems weird that there isn't any info on this. We were also thinking the same as you - screwing some metal plates to the c sections across the wall and then screwing brackets into that, but is it safe, etc. Please let me know if you happen to find any websites that deal with accessories for colorbond sheds such as hooks, brackets, shelving, etc! It's not structurally sound enough to do that. What I do and some of my mates have done is knock up a simple stud frame and work off that. Re: Shelving inside a colorbond shed 7Jan 04, 2011 9:24 pm See the pics of the brownbuilt shelving I put into my shed early last year. Businesses are getting rid of things like this all the time. I got enough to make 10 bays worth for ~$100 Unfortunately they were the narrowest ones at only 30 cm, but the ammount i got makes up for that. Also is that an escort and anglia I see there? Re: Shelving inside a colorbond shed 9Jan 06, 2011 1:06 pm Exactly what I was thinking the other day synapse. I like Fu's idea of the stud wall. A simple one of those attached to the portal frames might work. And yep, well spotted, a mk1 Escort and an Anglia.
