After that, it pretty much dies down and we just mow over it. My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Re: What plant is this (vol. 5,783 and counting :) 2Dec 03, 2010 9:44 pm A daffodil ? They are bulbs and flower in late winter (as you may know the anti cancer foundation's Daffodil Day is in late August) - they would die down and re-emerge following year . PS: if I am right, do I win a prize?? Re: What plant is this (vol. 5,783 and counting :) 3Dec 03, 2010 9:53 pm I was going to say a Freesia or a Jonquil (Freesia has an absolutely fabulous scent, Jonquils I don't like) but I didn't think either of those were quite right... so I agree with Helyn - a daffodil. Def a bulb. The scent is so beautiful and strong - about a dozen stems in a glass of water is enough for a whole small house! Never quite thought that they were bulbs, they are so tiny. Will need to transplant some from the lawn before we start spraying/replacing. My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... They are becoming a weed problem in our bush Re: What plant is this (vol. 5,783 and counting :) 9Apr 10, 2011 8:59 pm The fancy pretty coloured freesias don't actually have much (or any perfume). The old-fashioned freesia refracta alba (in your original pic) is the highly scented one. If I was buying them, I'd order them from Tesselaar's. I've never had a failure from any bulbs I've bought from them. Best in the business. http://www.tesselaar.net.au/plant-nursery/freesia/freesia-refracta-alba/ Re: What plant is this (vol. 5,783 and counting :) 10Apr 14, 2011 8:34 pm Really!? I guess we are lucky ... And ... I forgot to take some out and replant so they are not nuked or destroyed - but I don't know now where they are!
