Had a closer look and found some little mini caterpillar looking things. How do I treat this before they eat all my foliage. Attached is an image. Help! 2Dec 13, 2010 12:53 am It's going to be fine I'd just leave it be and let them do their thing. Just caterpillars. They might even be one that is an essential pollinator for native plants. They are called pear slugs but dont just eat pear leaves. They do alot of damage, and skeltonise the leaves. Looks terrible. Anyway. I dont use pesticides, but was told to use some sort of powder on the leaves. Like lime. or flour. I wet tthe tree, Threw a bit of flour on the tree and it stuck to the leaves. left it bout 1 hour and then hosed it off slugs are all dried up and gone.
