Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Nov 23, 2010 7:45 pm I've been wanting hydrangeas for my garden, I've only ever wanted white. I searched high and low and found a variety called 'Blushing Bride'. The flowers were described as pure white fading to pink as they age. Nowhere does it say anything about blue flowers. I have also read that white hydrangeas stay white regardless of the ph of the soil so I thought these were fairly safe. The flowers are just starting to open and I notice that they have a definite blue tinge. When I research 'Blushing Bride' hydrangeas on the net, I've read in some articles that the 'fade' colour can very from pink to blue depending on the ph of the soil. I would never have bought this variety if I had known they could turn out blue. Can I return them or ask for my money back? They weren't cheap. Has anyone ever done this with something they've planted that did not turn out the way it was expected? Re: 'Returning' plants - white hydrangeas 2Nov 24, 2010 2:34 am It will depend on where you bought them from. Not all garden centres will refund plants. The bigger chain ones mostly do. Call first to check and maybe have a look at their refund policy online. If they won't do a refund you may be able to negotiate an exchange for something of similar value. If it is a little garden centre you bought from and they haven't got a returns policy, you should be able to sell the plant fast enough on gumtree or the trading post. Murraya could be a great option for you. It creates a great tall screening hedge but doesn't drop fruit like lily pilly. The flowers smell divine. 2 10244 Looking for advice on whether this variation in tile colour is acceptable. The large tile on the left was used in my main bathroom renovation 1 year ago.
