i am at the stage of preparing the soil ready to lay some turf - but i havent selected the turf variety i want.
From reading the forum and speaking to several suppliers i am leaning towards EZ over Sapphire. mainly due to the look, fine leaves, and reduced mowing frequency. however i am concerned of the EZ browing/****** dormant over winter. i live less than 5kms from the east coast nsw so frost isnt a problem. some areas of the yard will be in shade for a good part of the day during winter - however exposed to good sun in summer.
can anyone who has planted either of these varieties earlier this year let me know how the turf responded to the cooler weather and increased shading with particular regard to browning. i have spent plenty of time conditioning the clay we inherited with powerfeed, seasol, gypsum, several runs with a rotary hoe and i have bactivate, liquid carbon ready to go. still havent found any zeolite or spongolite in the newcastle area. so if anyone has any tips as to where i can find some, i am all eyes - suppliers in sydney will also be useful.
we are also very lucky not to have any water restrictions.
thanks
