There are loads of threads. That mulch sounds like it needs to be thicker. It took the local cockatoos about a day to find it, and after about a week it was completely gone! In the Whitsundays they try to get the paper sugar tubes from the outdoor cafe tables. I chuck it in the composter to combat the wetness of the food scraps, on the garden beds and even on the bare patches in the lawn.
