Howdy all...
we're onto the backyard now. It's clay and horrid. Bringing some soil and mulch in this weekend.
We have a fenceline (1.9m high) beween us and the neighbours. We'll be constructing a roofless pergola than runs paralell to the fence, and about 1.5m away from the fence. Down this 1.5m stretch, which is about 10m long, we want to plant some trees/screening shrubs a) to block out the neighbours and b) to shade us under the pergola in summer (will probably try and grow some grape vines over the pergola too - so shading the pergola is just a secondary thing - first priority is screening the neighbours).
Let me know if want me to draw you a pic? Actually I just will as it's easier.
I love the idea of fruit trees, or natives... or something fragrant. Dont want to attract too many bees or wasps though, as it's a sitting/eating area.
Lemme know your thoughts... if any
I've circled the proposed area in red... hope that helps!!!
