There will in time be a bunch of thingies living in there. Mites, other worm species and of course your composting tiger and red worms. Right now I have been seeing the mites under the lid bringing down ferment fly maggots. Just amazing. We do chuck in a heap of fruit in there so no biggie. Load it up with dolomite of lime. Some clean sand as well to help the worms digest it all a bit quicker and easier In my farm, the mites will groom the worms and they nab mould outbreaks on breads and pastas. Just love what is happening. It is like a Simms City game but real Nope, only on the inside, I've literally has my ears to the brick outside and can't hear anything.
