I finished the backyard landscaping just in time for the weekend's planned party. The rain in Sydney last week was a real problem but we got it all down, just in time. Pics are uploaded to the blog here http://jacksonsbuild.blogspot.com/.
To answer some of the expected questions
* Grass is Palmetto delivered for $5.5/m2 (From a crowd in Windsor)
* Pool pavers are Villastone and we used them for the steppers and side pathway
* Planter boxes are painted in Taubams Lapstone
* Alfresco paving is 600mmx600mm Travertine filled. About $70/m2 on special from Amber.
* Side hedge is Acmena Smithii Minor. Hoping Fu or someone can suggest tips to get it going?? Clipping, feeding etc
* Underlay and planter mix is all organic premium stuff
* Pool filter box is a custom build, finished in Northernbox timber. And yes, it cost an arm and a leg
* Pebbles are Cowra white, 20mm. About $200/m3 from my local landscape supplier.
Still lots to do, as there always is, but for now we will just enjoy the summer. Need to get lots more plants (esp Stralitzia's in the pool area) and also some sort of palm to soften the pool filter. Also maybe some mondo grass next to the glass fencing to break the line?
Always open to suggestions
