This year in addition to the usual seasol, organic matter and powerfeed, I've added acid. Acid it seems is the magic ingredient - or at least the acid inducer MiracleGro. Suddnely they're all going nuts !

I can't help myself - I see them and they scream at me to buy them ! Am now contemplating demolishing the large carport to fit in a grove of Japanese maples. Conditions are better for growing this year, but I've been very diligent in past years as well - no water restrictions here in living memory. Do the hard jobs first. However they won't flower or show off their colour so well in those times. As soon as there is water around they can make up for lost colour very well ![]() You are a lucky man living where you do Cabin Fever ![]() Re: The joys of acid 7Oct 30, 2010 10:58 am I might add that the stuff you mentioned, Cabin Fever, is something religiously used by Toparious on his creations in his garden ![]() Re: The joys of acid 8Nov 01, 2010 3:35 pm ![]() I might add that the stuff you mentioned, Cabin Fever, is something religiously used by Toparious on his creations in his garden ![]() Very true Fu.I always use it once each month on the Conifers and have never had a problem with canker even though it is rife in our area. The annoying part though is that people have 8 mtr. high Pencil Pines that are dead and they never pull them out. Maybe they want to get their own back on people who care.
