Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Oct 21, 2010 8:43 am Hi all, we have started stage one of many stages in our backyard overhaul. Basically it requires pulling down and removing a 4x4x2 asbestos shed framing, small decking and above ground pool, pergola and other little bits. Firstly, we prob need a skip or similar for rubbish removal (we will when we find a suitable asbestos remover, get that done professionally)...it seems they are quite expensive and some don't hire for longer than a week. Does anyone know of any good hire companies in Melbourne? How big would we need? It seems like a super big job, but is this do-able over a weekend given its heaps more expensive to hire a skip for longer? Do we need a permit to have hire it? Re: Backyard reno and rubbish removal 2Oct 22, 2010 1:11 pm You won't need a permit if you can put the skip on your property. If it goes in the street then likely in Melbourne you need a permit. We got one recently and they are expensive and it seems they all know what each other charges and there is not much difference between them. From what you describe I would get a 4 - 5 metre one. If you concentrate on just working on filling the skip over the weekend you should get the job done in two days. Hi, planning on using the attached stone pieces in my bathroom.
