Browse Forums Landscape & Garden Design 1 Nov 22, 2007 11:52 am Ok, I will be doing a little bit of paving sometime in the near future.
I need some ideas to break up the area. Anyone got some bright ideas? http://www.artisticpaving.com.au/pattern.php shows the different paving pattern types. This is the area I have to pave. Under the pergola, over the concrete slab and up to the garage. http://s243.photobucket.com/albums/ff126/Alan_Gill_house/th_g11.jpg http://s243.photobucket.com/albums/ff126/Alan_Gill_house/th_pavingplan.jpg I already have 500 or so Nubrik pavers 150x300, starburst colour (half red/pink, half beige sort of) http://s243.photobucket.com/albums/ff126/Alan_Gill_house/th_100_1026.jpg Thinking of dotting in some 600 x 600 ones random, or patterned or I don't blooming well know Anyne got pics, ideas of what they've done? Re: Paving ideas needed, get in here! 2Nov 22, 2007 12:11 pm Al the Nubrick pavers that you already have, have they been down long? I ask that as they might have faded, so to try and match them up to a new batch to continue it on to the garage might look a bit funny.
What about using them as a border, and using another colour throughout the middle and carry that through. Also is the initial part of the driveway at the same level as the second piece of concrete at the side of the house? The reason behind this question is that it might be nice to carry the paving from the front driveway, down the side of the house and up to the garage at the back and the pergola.... Sorry that's probably worst case scenario for you, but it would look seemless and very classy if done in one style... Just my thoughts..... If I buy the same again, I would mix them in randomly to try to avoid a dark patch/light patch. Plus, being two coloured already, hopefully a colour change won't be too noticable **Phoenix** What about using them as a border, and using another colour throughout the middle and carry that through. Ddn't think of that, but I may have a lot left over. Better check... **Phoenix** Also is the initial part of the driveway at the same level as the second piece of concrete at the side of the house? Driveway and slab are the same level, the entire way through. The garage is higher than the slab, but being a seperated area (sort of), I can just pave uphill to suit. The rest of the driveway will be done eventually......money and inclination permitting. At the moment I plan just to do up to the gate at the end of the driveway and use it as a seperator. I had 28m2 of engineered pavers laid six months back and it was difficult to find someone not taking the pi$$. Internet suggested it should be $85-100/m2 to lay them.… 3 12390 As most others have posted above the install isn't compliant.
