Hi
Just wondering if anyone has used cypress timber for vege beds and has any advice as to its suitability?
I believe they're supposed to be naturally rot and insect resistant - would be recycled/remilled...
Cheers!

Re: Cypress Sleepers for Vege Beds? 3Oct 15, 2010 1:14 pm We couldn't source them locally so went with hardwood sleepers. I think the cypress ones would last longer Our veggie bed thread: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=38476 Re: Cypress Sleepers for Vege Beds? 5Oct 15, 2010 1:42 pm we were originally going to go for redgum as we preferred the colour as well (matches more of the inside of the house!) but we kept hearing that redgum attracted termites.. from lots of different 'in the know types' so we were a bit concerned about using too much of it in the garden (will already form part of front garden!). Perhaps someone can shed some light on if this is correct? Like the idea of recycling the wood though as well but don't think it would be too difficult to find recycled red gum! |
